We are your neighborhood independent insurance agency. We have been a Glidewell family-owned-and-operated business since 1967. We are staffed by knowledgeable agents who will help you with all of your insurance needs. We specialize in home, auto and commercial insurance but we offer many different policies within those classifications. Things like, boats, RVs, motorcycles, trailers, etc. All you need to do is ask!

Business History

Our agency was started by L.H. (Skeet) Glidewell in 1967 as a mobile insurance agency. Skeet got his nickname as a kid growing up in Arkansas. He used to hang around a restaurant and some of the other customers accused him of being there more than the mosquitoes, so they started calling him skeeter. Growing up it became Skeet, and when he went into business, that was the name he used because that was the name most people knew him as. Hence, the name Skeet's Insurance Service. We have been a family-owned agency since the start, and now, we are a third-generation, family-owned-and-operated business. Skeet required good customer service and a friendly but professional attitude. Always be fair to the client. Skeet's sons maintained that environment for over three decades and now his grandsons are continuing that tradition.
