In my opinion Cheryl Duffy is as corrupt as they come. My experience with her is she is completely and totally incompetent as a guardian ad litem and should never be considered by anyone to provide real GAL services.

She didn't even go to Law School.

"Annual tuition at private law schools today exceeds $10,000. By comparison, Duffy said, her only costs are her textbooks and a $50 enrollment fee she paid the state bar."

She said it herself textbooks and $50

That explains it all...

Personal note to Cheryl Duffy:

I want you to know that I forgive you... You tried to break me, you failed. You tried to break the bond that I have with my children, you failed. I am stronger than you will ever know and I will fix the damage that you did.

You are part of a corrupt, broken system that is destroying families for profit and you choose to profit rather than do what is right. One day you will answer to God for your actions and I will let Him be your judge. May God have mercy on your soul.

Completely professional. Very well versed in RCW. Does her homework! Knows a GAL is there for the child and NOT for litigating adults. Communicates very empathetically yet factually with the child. Her decades of GAL experience in child custody situations and court cases are worth their weight in gold. Any child with Cheryl as their GAL is treated fairly... and is very fortunate.

Incompetent and biased. I would not recommend her to walk my dog. Why? She may or may not show up. She may or may not return your call. She may or may not show up on time. She may or may not be babysitting her Grand kids in the courtroom.

I could go on but here's my point.

If your looking for an attorney in Skagit County? You would be better off than w/almost anyone but her.

She doesn't complete her investigaon.she NEVER returns phone calls,she is 100% bias,she also makes conflicting statements so listen very closely if you end up with her..I caught it after the fact and i lost my kids..the same kids she origionally appointed to me! And now I have great concern for my children who he does not put in carseats,who lies,who leaves a six year old child home alone or with his drug dealer...I am fighting this with an appeal and also moving the court to remove her from my case.in hopes the next one will not be bias but in fact do their job required under RCW 13.31.05, section 63-3-830,to REMOVE A GAL PLEASE USE IN YOUR MOVEMENT THE CAUSE BEING STATES UNDER RCW 26-12-175...I FILED TO HAVE HER REMOVED FROM MY CASE..I PRAY TO GOD THE COURT GRANTS MY MOVEMENT SO I MAY HAVE A FAIR IMPARTCIAL HEARING.
note to self: Do Not Hire Cheryl Diffuse even if she is the last person on earth!

I can assume from the posts below these persons were parties in family law cases in which Ms. Duffy was the GAL. In high conflict custody and divorce cases it is impossible to please everyone. It's not Ms. Duffy's job to do so, she is it report what she finds as to the best interests of the children. I have worked on cases where she is GAL and have in the nearly 30 years of my career found her to be professional and accurate. She is sought out as a GAL in complex cases and has a very good reputation. Rather than bashing her because she didn't "find" what you wanted you could put your energy to use being the best parent you can to your kids. It's easy to blame the attorney, the GAL, etc. Do you do that when your doctor gives you a diagnosis your aren't happy with? I believe Ms. Duffy to be an excellent GAL and if she was on your case, you're lucky.

Cheryl diffuse is biast and twists peoples statements around to make good ones sound bad.she does not investigate appropriately and and in doing so puts the children in the hands if someone she knows nothing about.
