Great food and the owners are great people.

I have to come to Mountain City for the purchase of an amplifier. it was noon time and while I was here I thought I would get something to eat. I was looking for a queen palm style restaurant. we had stopped at the tributary as it has good ratings but upon examination of their menu posted at their window we felt that it wasn't going to fit the home style cuisine we were seeking. so this was our first time eating in Mountain City Tennessee and the first time meeting at the farmers BBQ and grill. it was difficult to find a parking space as the lot was rather full. once inside the restaurant there was a bit of a wait for a table to be available. despite the numerous items on the menu and the claim of the best barbecue around my eyes where imidiatly to the special sign where the wednesday special was roast beef. my wife and i both ordered the roast beef. it came with mashed taters and green beans. Everthing was awesome. the green beans were great. The potatoes were gteat. but the roast beef was the star. also. there was a good roll. shortly after our food came i knew i made the right choice. not to take away from the tributary restaraunt as i didnt go there but if you sre looking for a good down home restaurant and good food then the farmers BBQ & Grill is what you are looking for. also the prices were very good. the tributaries seem to be a bit more upscale and the prices also reflected that. I know but one another Wednesday comes around I'm going to find myself back to Mountain City despite the hour long drive. do yourself a favor if you're ever in Mountain City Tennessee stop in at the farmers BBQ and grill.

Love their BBQ sandwish. Comes with or without slaw. Great smokey flavor.But could also could make a meal out of their home fries and BBQ beans. The beans seem to have a lot of that BBQ pork in them. Large portions and fair price. Glad they opened in my neighborhood.
