I payed 200.00 for warntee they came out told Me I'm lucky I got warnty because part was all most 300.00 I checked part is 86.50 now this month dryer still don't work and now it's my fault for not cleaning vent but vents clean so they want to charge me 165.0o service call to fix something they never fixed so I would not get your warntee and when it comes too parts order them your self than get some one to put it on for you Jim Swann really needs to look in to who he has working for him if he knows he's a crock his self

Nothing bad to say...

I'm surprised by the influx in negative comments as we have used In Home Appliance twice and had exceptional treatment both times. In fact, Jim gave me another idea to get the same result for less money. I will shout from the roof tops how great service and pricing was.

My best friend tried their service and got ripped off -- charged a service fee and said a major repair had to be made, when only a minor, cheap part was needed. My friend fixed the appliance himself for next to nothing!!!

Crooks!!!

Gave me an estimate on my washer that made buying a new one seem to be a better idea. Called another repair company that fixed it for just over 1/3 what In Home Appliance quoted. Won't ever use Jim Swann's In Home Appliance Repair company again!

Worst Service Ever

Actually, we made a typo -- we should have said that we wouldn't have selected even a single star (not "start") to rate this company. In retrospect, we would also rate this company in technical service and customer service a MINUS 10 on a scale of 1 - 5 (not on a scale of 1 - 10)!!!!

RIP-OFF

Our refrigerator stopped cooling while we were out of town. In Home Appliance Repair sent a technician on 11/16/2010. The tech talked with my wife, then called me and said the ground prong on the pigtail (connection) was missing whIch burned out a "computer board." The pigtail and "computer board" would have to be replaced for about $350.00. He also said that the compressor might be bad -- if so, repairs would be about $750.00. I told him that we didn't want to spend that much on a used refrigerator. The tech charged us a service fee of $75.00. I moved the refrigerator out and wrestled our "back-up" model in from the garage. 13 days later, I took a look at the workings of the malfunctioning refrigerator...THERE WAS NO COMPUTER BOARD. I plugged it in and found the start relay was shorting and sparking. I replaced the start relay for $47 ( online for $32 plus shipping), and replaced the start relay. IT WORKED LIKE NEW!!!! Then I read the tech's poorly-written service report, which stated the start relay and pigtail missing the ground prong needed replacing for approximately $346.40. On 11/30/2010 I complained to the company that the tech never tried replacing the start relay, but performed little or no service. The woman who answered, said she would have to check with the tech (but didn't give her name). On 12/01/2010, a woman, whose name sounded vaguely like "Paula," stated in a voice mail the tech found a bad start relay and pigtail without a ground, that I opted not to have the repairs made, and that the tech therefore performed an appropriate service call. I immediately called the office and explained to the woman who answered why I thought there was no service performed, since the tech never tried a new start relay. The woman stated that the tech performed the appropriate service by finding the missing ground and noting there was a bad start relay, and said he couldn’t replace the start relay without replacing the pigtail. When I asked to speak with the owner, the woman, again not identifying herself, said she is the owner. I told her that I feel the $75.00 for the service call should be refunded, as the "service" performed was substandard at best. I told the woman that I would go to the Better Business Bureau, at which point she calmly stated, "Go ahead. We're not registered with the Better Business Bureau." At that point, a man came on the phone, without identifying himself (who may or may not be the stated owner, Jim Swann), and loudly proclaimed that, since he was not present when the tech performed the "service," he would meet me at 9 a.m. on 12/02/2010). When I said I work from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., before I could ask if we could possibly find a different time that might work, the man shouted, "See! You won't work with us. We tried to work with you, but you refuse to work with us! Don't EVER call us again!!!" --- and promptly hung up. IF IT WERE POSSIBLE, I WOULD ASSIGN THIS COMPANY A MINUS 10 RATING ON A SCALE OF 1-10!!!! Based on the service received and the customer service provided when I called back, I would never have clicked on even one start, if it were not absolutely required in order to submit a review!!!! I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!!!!! But I WILL continue calling them for a refund of the money I paid. I will contact the Better Business Bureau. And I WILL try to make potential customers aware of the extremely bad service this company performed!!!! Bottom line -- three mistakes I made: 1) Not checking out this company through the Better Business Bureau before calling them; 2) Not noticing that this company lists only phone numbers and a web-site -- no physical or mailing address; and 3) EVER CALLING THIS COMPANY TO REPAIR ANYTHING!!!

Good Experience.

We have used In Home Appliance several times and the service is always great and Jim and his techs spend time explaining what went wrong and how maintenence can avoid future problems. We used a discount advertised on thier site which kept it affordable as well.

When my aunts fridge was leaking and not cooling she was worried to death that the brand new groceries were going to go bad. I called when I found Jim on yellowpages.com and he saved the day. They are really friendly and it was affordable bc she is on a fixed income. I highly recommend!
