I've been bring my glasses here the last few years. They have excellent price for lenses, and I received great service from the sales people. However, I felt the optician who provided the eye exam this year (2011) was not thorough nor professional - she checked her phone messages while she was with me, and seem bored and was abrupt with me. I would suggest paying for the exam elsewhere, and come here with your prescriptions. The savings will make up for the cost of the exam.

Great for Progressive Lenses Too

As the more complex lenses I need didn't seem covered in the numerous favorable reviews of "88", I feared my experience wouldn't match that of those buying more standard 'grindings'. I needn't have worried.

I wanted Photochromatic ["Transition"] lenses that darken in sunlight and I needed Progressive lenses that serve the same function as BiFocals but with a smooth transition rather than the visable line separating the 2 magnifications.

1st off; I knew these couldn't be ready in the amazingly few hours it usually takes these folks to supply most glasses. It used to take my 'standard' Optician at least a week to obtain the lenses I need. '88' promised my new ones in 3 days at the outside and had them ready in 2.

As to price, while I'm leery of ordering lenses on the Internet as they need to be centered exactly for each individual face, and so on, '88''s $240 price was within 2% of the best deal I could find anywhere On-Line and that would have been an unknown supplier and without individual fitting [& re-visits later if needed] and advice.

'88' was perfectly fine about my bringing in my own special Half-Frames bought on the web, though they were loosing the mark-up. And their advice regarding the several trade-offs & choices I had to make was quite cogent, and more importantly, did not seem shaded by any desire to sell an un-needed feature or up-grade.
