Non pretension old school BBQ place. You will drive right by it and not see it. Understand there is no standard for southern BBQ, it varies from region to region, state to state, you will find no tomato based BBQ in Alabama, even mustard in some states. Most places will give you a sample. This like the name says is what you find around Rocky Mount, NC, more vinegar based, less sweet then the famous Pierce's PITT BBQ in Williamsburg, Va. I like the BBQ here, what I grew up with. Try the crab cakes, these are the best around, with sweet potatoe waffles sprinkled sugar and the fried apples. They have soups, bison burgers, fish, a diverse menu. Great place, how many of the faux British Pubs you see, the faux 50ish hamburger places, all fake, corperate food shipped it, not this place, local owned. This is a real gem of a southern roadside BBQ place. Kind you used to find before the interstates, before the Mickey Dees, the Sonics, the places where you used to stop when travelling, where the local police eats. An inexpensive southern place without the drive down south. Only problem is parking can be tight.

This is by far one of the best bbq places to eat at!!!!!!! The food was delicous and the staff very friendly. My husband and I drive for a living, we get a room on down time and happen to be in Virginia waiting to pick up a load. And came across the first bbq place that delivered which finding good food other then fast food is hard to find especially bbq.that delivers. Rocky Mount BBQ is by far the best place to order from and they also have good soups (lobster bisque was awesome) and sides to choose from. Also their prices are very reasonable.

If you are looking for the best Carolina style BBQ, this is the place for you. If BBQ is not your thing they still have you covered. They have a wide variety of items on the menu. The family atmosphere is awesome and adds another element to the equation. This is my family's favorite place to get all of our favorite comfort foods hands down. Last but not least, they have very reasonable prices.
