St. Clare Home, established in 1927, is a 47-bed skilled nursing facility located in the heart of Newport, RI offering the highest quality care to our residents. In addition to 24-hour nursing care, St. Clare Home provides a variety of recreational activities to suit the physical, social, and emotional needs of our residents, delicious meals prepared by our own chefs, housekeeping and laundry services, medical social services, and dietary and rehabilitative consultations and treatments. St. Clare home is a member of CareLink and a not-for-profit, non-sectarian community. Mary Beth has been caring for the residents of St. Clare Home for more than 14 years. Her background includes social work, admissions, marketing, quality assurance and nursing home administration. She oversees the day-to-day operations of St. Clare Home and assists residents with their transitions from independent living to their new long term care environment, while providing one-to-one counseling for residents and their families. Mary Beth is licensed in Nursing Home Administration and Assisted Living Residence Administration. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development, Counseling, and Family Studies from the University of Rhode Island and a Masters' of Science in Healthcare Administration. He has been a family practitioner on Aquidneck Island and has affiliated with Newport Hospital since 1983. Dr. DeRolf is a graduate of Brown Medical School. He is Board Certified by the American Academy of Family Practice (AAFP) and currently serves as Chairman of the Ethics Committee at Newport Hospital. "What I enjoy most about caring for the residents St. Clare Home Helping families and the residents with their transition to their new home Christen Parker Jones specializes in the support of individuals and their families through psycho-social skills. Throughout a 19-year career in the healthcare field, her experiences include issues concerning long-term care, human development, geriatrics, sub-acute care and Alzheimer's care. Christen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and a Masters of Arts in Social and Personality Psychology from Rhode Island College. She is a lifelong Rhode Islander, and particularly enjoys helping the residents of St. Clare Home build stronger relationships with their families. We all can learn so much from them. They keep me going! Linda is a recognized author, speaker and trainer in the understanding and care of those with Alzheimer's Disease. She has facilitated many support groups for families, children and those diagnosed with Alzheimer's including a current support/education group for families at St. Clare Home. Linda has been involved in the design and launch of special care units in several states and has worked with architectural firms to develop therapeutic environments for the elderly. She presently serves as a member of the Rhode Island Alzheimer's Association Medical Advisory Committee and the Aquidneck Place Assisted Living Advisory Board.
