- We are an open-air museum providing the full context of a 20th century railroad through experiences on the Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad. The Indiana Transportation Museum is a non-profit heritage railroad that operates a number of excursions along 38 miles of former Nickel Plate Road line. We are committed to preserving and showcasing Indiana’s railroad history by offering trips throughout the year using our vintage railroad equipment.
