General Info

We opened our doors in North Charlestson's Olde Village in 2003, and for several years focused on children and youth programs. It was a great way to build our relationship with the community, create and audiences for live theatre in the North Area. In 2009, SOBTC expanded to include adult mainstage performances, and finally achieved a reputation for quality, edgy, and thought-provoking professional theatre. The New York Times, 3/24/13. Mission: South of Broadway Theatre Company produces theatre of the highest professional standards, ensuring diversity in programming to further an enduring educational and culturally enriched environment. Vision: South of Broadway Theatre Company aspires to be a member of the League of Resident Theatres (LORT) and a nationally recognized 'Destination' for Broadway quality theatre.
