Dr. Delaney and Dr. Wefer purchased the Millar Animal Hospital from Dr. Harry Millar Jr. on October 31, 1986. Dr. Millar's grandfather Harry Millar Sr. built the hospital in 1928 amongst the farmlands of Deal, NJ. The Millar Animal Hospital was the largest privately owned veterinary facility on the eastern seaboard. It was originally designed and built as a veterinary hospital and was the most state of the art facility of its time. It was one of the first veterinary hospitals in the country to treat only small animals. It was one of the first private veterinary hospitals in the country to have an x-ray machine, and to treat cats.
