We go here often, and although it is a bit pricey, find the food very good. The service is also very good (despite another review, we have never had a male server; the owner & all wait staff are female every time we go-no matter the day-and do an excellent job. Perhaps the other reviewer was at a different restaurant...?)

I frequent JC Mandarin once a week with my co-workers. The food quality is always excellent and the service is good too. Great value and wide selection of dishes to choose from. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner.

This was the WORST dining experience we've ever had! We took our 8 yr old son there for dinner tonight. Ordered Almond Chx, Sesame Chx (without the breading), and Peppered Steak. Food had NO flavor. Sesame Chx came out breaded & when I said something to the OWNER/WAITER he argued with me & told me that I never said "no breading." He took my plate & as he walked away, my son heard him say "mother f*cker." UNACCEPTABLE! On top of that, when he brought out the correct order, he told me "next time, you inform me that you want no breading." We explained to him that I DID say NO BREADING. He rolled his eyes & walked away. He never came back to offer refills on drinks, to see how our food was, nothing. The food is FAR too over-priced for the lack of taste, and the horrible service that we had to deal with. A little tip for the RUDE server, don't ever tell your customers (the people that help you pay your bills) that they are wrong. Own up to the fact that you didn't listen & put the order in wrong. Do 't blame it on your patrons. AND DON'T EVER CUSS IN FRONT OF THEIR CHILDREN!!! Really poor customer service!! I would recommend, if you want Chinese, don't try this place!!!

On 8/06/2007, I ordered a (take out) vegetarian Lo-Mein. When I got home, to my dismay, I found that there were pices of chicken in my food. I immediately called the place back about the same. The reply was "it is vegetarian" despite me syaing otherwise. I had to take the food back to her restaurant and she did realize what I was tryi g to say ( that it had chicken pieces). She never apologized about that and tried to tell me that it was the chef' fault (when she herself said that she was the owner). She went by the name of "Grace". I asked for a formal complaint form and she asked " what do you want to do with that, I am the owner" almost mocking me. She refused to put in writing about the incident, when asked to do so. She refunded my money back. Their terrible cutomer service and rudeness is one of the things I would like to highlight. After I went to J.C. Mandarin right across Westroads Mall, I discovered that they have a new location that just opened a few days ago on 168th and West Center! Their food is very VERY delicious... especially my favorite the Honey Walnut Shrimp! It is worth the trip to go to J.C. Mandarin Asian Cuisine.
