I was born and raised on the northside of Pgh. When I was very young like 7 my parents signed me up for Heinz House. I went for several years. I enjoyed the swimming the sewing the club the craft making the interaction with all. They had dances for us we met boys we just looked forward to go there and was sd when you had nothing that day. I went to camp several years and saved for the camp stamps my self. My director Daisy taught me the Pledge of Allegiance in a song and since then I have taught my grandkids the same songs,I also taught my grandkids some camp songs. Heinz was a good thing for us kids back in the day and I wish I still lived in Pgh to send my grandkids to the same place, I now live in Florida and still no the phone number to Heinz. I miss Daisy, I miss Sandy Krebs and Olga Crawley, that is how long ago I was there. Children today should learn and appreciate what organizations are out there for them and get interested, its safe and a smart thing to do. Thanks E.Gibson
