My wife was driving her car, 2004 Honda Civic, on the freeway at night when the lights started to go dim and it died. On my way to pick her up I called the roadside assistance that recommended this Pep Boys so I had the said for them to tow the car there and then called and said I needed a new alternator. There was no question about what the problem was. The next day I get a call that they can't start the car and that there is an alarm issue that can only be dealt with at the dealership. I told them that the problem with that is that there is no alarm in the car. They insisted so I went to pick it up, and it started right away. I walked into the shop and told them the battery was still good and they could start it, but they refused and said that they had already determined the problem and would not look at it again. I paid $100 to tow it to the dealership to have them tell me that it was the alternator.



Can you call someone a mechanic when they can't even diagnose an alternator?

HORRIBLE PEOPLE! Went there at 7:30am to get my state inspection done for my car since I had an emergency and needed to drive to san antonio and get on the air force base, and to get on base your inspection needs to be done. Took them until 11am to let me go. Kept "finding" light bulbs that needed to be replaced and after replacing some myself so they wouldn't charge me service fees they decided my license plate light was out and that is one they had to replace themselves as it take a special tool to replace it. Took them freaking forever to change the lightbulb, a damn lightbulb took them an hour and a half. If it takes them that long to switch one lightbulb do you really want them working on your car! DONT GO TO THIS PLACE! I will never go there again I am so angry with Pep boys.
