Built in 1797, the Kent-Delord House Museum tells the story of a prominent small town family in Upstate New York. Henry and Betsey Delord moved to the house in 1811, and owned and operated a general store called the Red Store right on the property. The house was also the British Headquarters during the Battle of Plattsburgh during the War of 1812.Learn more about the story of the Delord family in Plattsburgh! From an old government debt to the Women's Christian Temperance Union, from inventions to the Medal of Honor from serving in the Civil War, the Delords tell a fascinating story! The Kent-Delord House Museum is open seasonally for tours!May-June: Tuesday-Friday from 11AM-3PM, July-August: Tuesday-Saturday from 11AM-3PM, September: Tuesday-Friday from 11AM-3PM. Battle of Plattsburgh Weekend, Sept 12-13, 2015, we are open Saturday and Sunday 10-4.
