      The San Francisco Bay Area Council of The Boy Scouts of America serves San Francisco and Alameda counties in California. The organization supports more than 300 local packs, troops, teams and crews. It provides a variety of food and shelter programs and helps to develops good health habits in individuals. Founded in 1916, the San Francisco Bay Area Council is located in San Leandro. The Boy Scouts of America offers an educational program. The Boy Scouts of America s Venturing program provides high-adventure activities and sports. The organization s Tiger Cubs program emphasizes leadership, community learning and family understanding. Its Cub Scouts program provides several activities that emphasize character that puts an emphasis on character development and citizenship training programs. The Boy Scouts of America s all scout camps are inspected and accredited annually by teams of trained volunteers to ensure the health, safety and quality of programs for campers.
