      I maintain a philosophy that people, at any given moment, are functioning as well as they can, given the resources and knowledge they have. As a licensed professional counselor, I strive to assist my clients with developing more resources, insight, and skills to move them toward a greater level of functioning and improvement in the quality of their lives. I use a DBT-informed, cognitive-behavioral approach in my counseling practice. I have over 10 years of experience providing individual, group, and family counseling. Areas of special interest include depression, anxiety, impulse control issues, drug and alcohol abuse/dependence, life transitions, trauma, and interpersonal conflict. I utilize mindfulness practices and behavioral analysis to assist clients with overcoming their presenting problems. I believe that the therapeutic relationship must be collaborative, and that clients have the potential to ultimately become their own therapists.
