I've eaten @ this place for over 15 years & have noticed that the food quality has plumetted over the last 2 years. The fried chicken is frequently overcooked to a dark brown with a pungent crust; tasting of smoky, half-rancid grease. The gravies, puddings, etc all taste "canned", versus scratch maid.



Service has declined equally, as most of the help appears to be high-school aged; they seem to spend more time commiserating with each other, than attending to customer's needs.



Last month a group of us drove from Arnold, Missouri down to Potosi to eat @ this restaurant; it will be the last time any of us waste our time/gasoline/or hard earned $ to go there. We arrived 45 minutes before closing time & found the meatloaf the only meat still on the buffet. When we queried them as when they'd have some more chicken back out on the buffet, we were told by a coarse older female employee that they "weren't going to bother putting any chicken on, as we were the only 6 customers in there & they'd be closing in a little over a half-hour"!?!?!



After that verbal slap in the face, we had to ask 3 times before our drinks were refilled after our first glassful.



Next, we went to grab deserts off the salad bar, & they'd already cleared the desert section, with zero remaining; that was still 20 minutes to closing time.



When we went to checkout, the cashier asked how everything was. I mentioned to her how abysmal the service, attitude, food, & the visit in general had all been & it would likely be the last for the six of us. The only reply was from the older aforementioned woman: " 'ya shoulda' got here earlier"!!!
