Went in to trade my wife's 10 oz and 5 oz silver bars for silver coins for the grand kids Christmas. Straight forward and honest shop. Third time I have been there and Tony is an honest owner. Highly recommend. Fair price for your gold and silver. Tried two other shops and I feel this is the one that I trust. Reasonable pricing and a friendly person. Go there!

Do NOT go to this store!!!The tagline for this review site says "there are winners and there are losers" and this store comes out as the biggest LOSER of all. Two years ago, our experience with them was GREAT. Three days ago, it was appalling. After speaking to a CSR on the phone, we were told that they pay the highest prices by far, of anyone (this was true two years ago). So, on Saturday, June 28, 2014 we drove the 3 HOUR trek from Bellingham to Puyallup. We arrived an hour early to make sure we had plenty of time to do our business transactions. Their website states on Saturdays they are open until 5:00 p.m. We arrived at 3:55 p.m, after driving 3+ hours to find a store that was CLOSED. Now, this in and of itself, is frankly, BS but to make matters worse I struggle with a chronic illness that makes even daily activities, a huge challenge. This type of car ride will put me in bed for several days. However, we trusted them and respected them based on our experience 2 years ago, and knew we would be paid well for our gold. I immediately sent them 2 emails and left them a voicemail explaining my personal situation and the predicament they had put me in with incorrect business hours listed on their website. But lo and behold, THREE days later I have still not heard from them! No apology, NOTHING. I have recommended them to people for a couple years as the BEST place to go and now, sadly, I have to give them the big L for LOSERS. To make that drive and the profound physical pain it caused me and to not hear back from them, is beyond appalling. Who handles customer service like that? People that do not have character and integrity, that's who. Please do not support unethical people.

they say that they pay the most but they lied to me. i brought in an 1882 silver dollar and the guy ( which by the way was very agressive with me) said it was worth $2.75. and he said the same about my barber dime. i decided to look the coins up. the silver dollar was in fact worth 110 dollars , not 2.75. that makes furious. i would give this place -99999 stars but they wont even let me do 0 stars:(((

These guys must be expecting to be robbed every second because they were, on 2 occasions, reluctant to show me what silver coins they had, which were not displayed. The premiums were lower even than Bellevue Rare Coins but if you are looking for a 'we love our customers' attitude go somewhere else.

I am divorced and have some jewelry that I don't need. I called and spoke with Tony. Explained what I wanted to sell and that I had never sold jewelry before. I asked him what the process was. He said that I would just need to bring it in and show them.He then said that he would encourage me to take my diamond somewhere and have it appraised first. I asked him if I could just bring it in and get a price. His response was, "um, no". He said that I would get a much better price if I went somewhere else and got the paperwork on the diamonds even thought I don't have to show him. I asked him what I need to do that for then if he didn't need it. He told me that they don't do that kind of work. I would need to have someone else do all that kind of work and then SH would price it for me.Excuse me? you don't want to do the work on it? you'd rather have me drive around and then you just make the sell? oh please, you just lost a customer. I bet you outbid everyone else by a buck everytime.

Just wanted to say thank you to all of you at south hill rare coins. I had never sold gold before I had no idea what I was doing. I had to fly to Arizona because my Father was ill and we did not know if he would pull through. I was in shock when I recieved enough money from the gold to get a plain ticket for my husband and myself to fly back and care for him. I was treated with respect and kindness. I just want to thank you again. I will be a loyal customer for life.

You go on about your great business dealings but treat people like crap. You are not nice and you talk terrible about other people. You really should try to be more professional.I hope people do shop around and see how your just as average in pay, you tell people to go away and get other quotes then come back with reports and pay more just so you will get they're business.I left your store because you were talking down about a business that has always been great to me and my friends and family. I went back there just because they treated me like a person and I was paid more then expected.Go to "be nice to your customers" SCHOOL.Shame on you.

WOW, they told me over the phone they paid the most for jewerly, gold and silver and coins. They were not lying. I tested it and went ot numerous other locations, including the two I hear on the radio up in Bellevue, they are jewerly stores that advertise they buy coins too. What a joke, there offer was by far lower than anyone else in Tacoma and what a waste of gas and time. South Hill Coins blew everyone away, they beat the best offer I had by over 40% and the they doubled the worst Bellevue offer I had. Don't waste your time and get screwed by other shops that tell you a bunch of lies and then offer you very little and not anywhere near what South Hill Rare Coins does. These guys are honest, upfront and open about it all.

I have delt with these guys in the past. They are always courteous and helpful. The shop is easy to get to. The lobby is a little smal but everything is layed out and dsiplayed very neatly and easy to see.

I was visiting the Seattle area and found this local coin shop near my relative's home. The selection of material was very good and EXTREMELY ORGANIZED! I also found their prices to be very fair and reasonable compared to many other coin shops around the country. I didn't feel like they were trying to pressure me in buying anything and the sales clerk basically left me to my own until I was ready for assistance. Upon inquiring about several other coin desires they were very knowledgeable and helpful. I will recommend this Dealer for young/new collectors to the very experienced with extensive collections. South Hill Rare Coins has it all!
