Referred by family and friends who have been regulars for years. My first visit, was a walk in with no appointment. Little wait time. Great job on nails compared to a different salon that I had been to in the past. Prices about same as anywhere else in area. Question for other review: Who sends in kids by themselves and if only manis is what mom wants she should be there to make sure a kid doesn't ask for more. Showing them a certificate doesn't tell them that that is the dollar limit - it only shows that either a portion or all of the bill will be paid with the certificate and I have never known anyone with the ability to read minds.

I purchased a $50 gift certificate from Rapid City Journal "Today's Deal" for Impressive Nails. I gave it to my daughters as a gift and they went to have their manicures. When they arrived they showed the man their gift certificate and told him they had $50 and he told them to "pick a nail" and showed them the designs. While there, the employees spoke a foreign language the entire time and never spoke to my daughters or asked them any questions. After their nails were done a woman gave them a total of $116.60 as the balance due. I went to the business and asked why they were being charged so much, the woman said they put a powder on the nails and it cost $58.30 each. I told her they only wanted a manicure and asked how much it was, she said it was $21 each but they put powder on them so I owed $66.60 more. I told her it was ridiculous that they charged them extra for something that they didn't ask for after they were told they had $50 and showed them the gift certificate.

Not impressive at all! Right when I walked in they told me to sit down and take off my own nail polish with one of those containers with the sponge in it while they were finishing up other customers, GROSS! They did not seem to understand how I wanted my nails and then when I pointed something out to them that wasn't right they just replied with, "It's fine," when it wasn't. Nail polish was left on my fingers and the polish job was not done with care.I could not believe how horrible my nails looked and as my nails were growing the acrylic was so uneven near my cuticles that my nails were catching on everything.
