      General Info
      I chose to enter the field of Clinical Psychology after realizing there was more possible for me than the career I had enjoyed and benefited from for a number of years. I made the arrangements and attended college for the following six years to pursue that dream. I have never had a moment of regret. It proved to be a great choice for me and my family. I worked as a Psychologist with individuals, couples, and families for the past thirty-three years. I begin by interacting with each person in ways that strengthen the development of a trusting relationship between us. Questions are welcomed and answered as my methods are very transparent. The approach I use, called Emotionally Focused Therapy, has strong support from a variety of research studies. This therapeutic approach has a high rate of success, lasting effects, and very little relapse. It contains nine steps which, when completed actually produce healing of past emotional injuries allowing people to respond in entirely new ways rather than simply reacting in old ways. I believe that each person has everything they need to create and maintain a lasting partnership with themselves and with others. Relationships that prosper contain love, safety, security, fulfillment, validation, and most importantly, trust and trusting. Barriers can and do develop in each of us as a consequence of our past experiences. When this occurs our automatic reactions block and interfere with our natural expression, communication, and attainment of our most important needs and longings.
