      Intellectual Property is recognized as the most important asset of many companies and it is often the foundation of market dominance and profitability. It has been estimated that in 1975, tangible assets represented more than 80% of corporate value in the S&P® 500 whereas IP comprised less than 20%. Today, the ratio has inverted. Now nearly 80% of corporate value is in IP. As an engineer I have worked for a number of different technology companies ranging from large aerospace to small start ups. The projects I worked on ranged from long term high tech projects to quick turn around projects and from aircraft avionics to manufacturing automation. Through all of this I saw how a company could properly protect their intellectual property portfolio from their competitors and disgruntled employees. I also saw companies loose key portions of their intellectual property because they lack the proper safeguards to protect them. After many years as a successful engineer I returned to school to pursue a Juris Doctor degree with an emphasis on Intellectual Property. I wanted to be in a position where I could help companies protect what really is their most important growth asset - their creative skill - from those that want to simply copy it. With my admission to the California Bar and to the United States Patent and Trademark Office and my extensive engineering background I am in the position to help you protect all of the creative works of your business.
