inattentive to prospective adoptive pet owners. Never respond to phone calls. The odor of cat urine permeates the downstairs. I will end up buying a dog because the will not return my requests to adopt . I've filled out the necessary forms, have excellent references including a veterinarian. The people that run this place are more animal hoarders than anything else. The dog I wanted to adopt is frequently taken home by the people working here, but not adopted by them. Sounds like hoarding to me.

i have been working with Angels for many years. they have had up and downs but it is a great shelter. they pull animals out of high kill shelters. when puppy mill raid are organized Angels is called to help. several of the local county animal control agencies use Angels instead of the regional shelter. please take time to go visit Angels at anytime and you will find a very clean shelter. no smell, clean kennels. high number for adoptions and spay/neuter. they offer low cost vaccinations and flea care products.

My recent review of Angels of Assisi clinic 503 Nonprofit status was not clear.Today for first time I found on their statement of 503 Nonprofit. My mistake.on their"Contact Us"click the site is blank, nonprofit status could be indicated there as well as the Names/Members of Brd of Dir.elections/nomination process and refer to some sort of business profile/statistics.Clearly this Angel's clinic is in need of better standards of sanitation, as well as emergency Fire and Rescue exits from the rear of this older multi-story building.are there any legal standards inVirginia concerning the occupancy, space, fire regulations for Animal shelthers? If not there ought to be,cause the recent fire could have ended very tragically.these folks may be trying to do too much out of the goodness of their hearts;their good intentions can'tbe questioned.good work by very good folks. I am a cust/consum.of this clinic.Remarks here intended to stimulate thought and provoke action not to disparage anyone.

Great Work in Rescuing pets. HOWEVER: appear to be unorganized from the front reception desk all the way through adoption clinic. Place Stinks.literally the odor is bad...and that is an understatment. Not listed as a 503 nonprofit; but asking for food, $, etc.Recent Fire showed Clinic has NO meaningful fire escape on outside of building packed with over 200+animals; No computerized listing/PRINTOUT and PET ID's to facilitate movment and identification of animals in need of emergency rescue/removal. Too many animals in too small of a space.Staff appeared to be intimidated by one "leader"(?). Are there NOT fire regulations and occupancy limitations on Pet Shelters? The Staff are NO doubt dedicated and motivated from their hearts, and this is reflected in the general well being of the animals in their care. However, the place needs an airpurification system, increased sanit.,increased space, entrance and exits for emergencies or it would appear a tragedy is in the making at this facility
