- SinusitisSinusitis is not always easy to diagnose. One important clue to acute sinusitis is the failure of microscopic hair-like structures called cilia. When the system becomes impaired, oxygen content in the sinuses decreases, mucus accumulates, stagnates and then becomes infected by normally harmless bacteria or viruses found in the nose.
- Medical Weight LossIt runs in families with different degrees of severity from silent to severe. People who have Celiac disease cannot tolerate a protein called gluten, which is a protein found in wheat, barley, rye and oats. Celiac disease causes flattening of the villi, leading to malabsorption of nutrients, leading to weight loss and weakness.
- Pediatric CareWe use skin testing or scratch testing methods for allergy testing. Scratch testings allows us to detect immediate sensitivity to certain allergens like pollens of trees, animals, different foods and more! We follow different methods of scratch testing for adults and pediatrics.

- Ear InfectionsWhile it usually takes seven to ten days of antibiotic therapy to control common throat or ear infections, it will take a full two to three weeks of antibiotics for sinus infections. When the treatment is discontinued before completion, infections often recur. When no significant improvement seems to occur after a full course of antibiotic therapy, or if the infection is persistent and keeps returning, surgery may be needed.
- Emergency CareThe goal of asthma therapy during pregnancy is virtually the same as in non-pregnant patients. The goal is to prevent hospitalization and emergency room visits as well as lost time at work and chronic disability. Avoidance of allergens and irritants including exposure to pets and the harmful effects of cigarette smoke becomes especially important in controlling asthma. Alcohol should also be avoided by pregnant women with asthma, because it can harm the developing fetus and cause bronchial constriction as it is exhaled through the lungs.
- Constipation
- Irritable Bowel SyndromeUp to 20% of the adult population have symptoms compatible with irritable bowel syndrome. Most of those people, however, never seek medical attention.
- Diarrhea
- ImmunizationsThe primary goal in treating AD is to prevent itching. When an AD sufferer scratches irritated skin, outbreaks will flare, providing an open door to infection. These infections are not to be taken lightly... both herpes simplex virus and smallpox vaccination virus can spread rapidly on the eczematous skin. Progressive cases can cause serious systemic disease that is occasionally life-threatening.
- Pregnancy
- Labor and DeliveryTroublesome asthma during labor and delivery is extremely rare in women whose asthma has been adequately controlled during pregnancy. Most asthmatic women are even able to perform the Lamaze breathing techniques during delivery without difficulty. The increase in plasma epinephrine that occurs during labor and delivery may contribute to the absence of asthma symptoms during this critical time period. Some studies suggest that the pattern that asthma symptoms follow initially may be reported in subsequent pregnancies.
