- BotoxBotox® and Dysport® are products that are injected directly into the facial muscles responsible for the formation of wrinkles. By weakening the muscles' ability to contract, the wrinkles fade and the overlying skin appears smoother. The two specific products are approved by the FDA to temporarily reduce moderate to severe frown lines.
- Laser ResurfacingLip enhancement can also be achieved by laser lip rejuvenation with fractional laser resurfacing ( Fraxel Re:pair® or Starlux 1540® ). - Skin CancerSkin cancer affects one in five Americans, and more than one million new cases of skin cancer will be diagnosed in the United States this year. It is recommended that a person see a dermatologist once a year for a routine skin examination (a person with a history of skin cancer may need to be seen more frequently.) Also, it is important to perform monthly self-examinations of your skin. If anything on the skin changes, grows, or bleeds, you should see a dermatologist. Skin cancer is very treatable when caught early.
- DermatologyOver time, sun exposure causes damage to the skin. One of the first signs of this damage is discoloration of the skin with brown patches and spots. Dull texture is also an early sign of sun damage and aging skin. Wrinkles are next to appear: first, wrinkles occur with movement of facial muscles, and then wrinkles form without movement, when your face is at rest. There are several different treatment options available to effectively treat sun damage and wrinkles. At Granite Bay Dermatology and Laser Center, we can recommend the best treatment, or combination of treatments, for your particular needs.
- Acne TreatmentSince acne has many forms, Dr. Hearth can design an individual approach to successfully control your breakouts. Any acne treatment takes time, approximately 4-8 weeks to see significant improvement. Continuing treatment is usually necessary to maintain improvement.

- PsoriasisPsoriasis is a chronic skin disease that is classically characterized by thickened, red areas of skin covered with silvery scales. The extent of skin involvement can range from discrete, localized areas to generalized body involvement. The joints, nails, scalp and mucous membranes may also be affected with the disease. Some cases of psoriasis are so mild that people don't know they have it. Severe psoriasis may cover large areas of the body. Psoriasis can be physically and emotionally disabling for those who suffer from it. Fortunately, there are new types of treatments available that work well, even for the most severe cases.
