      Connie has been very active in the Salina community and in the Kansas Bar Association. She was Saline County Counselor from 1973-1988. She was appointed and served on the Board of Governors for the Kansas University Law Society from 1994-1997. She is a member of the Saline/Ottawa County Bar Association, the KS Bar Association, and the KS Bar Foundation, serving as its president from 1987-1989. She was Chancellor of the Episcopal Diocese of Western Kansas from 1984-2004 She has received numerous awards for her contributions to the legal profession, including the first recipient of the Kansas Bar Association's Professionalism Award, the Kansas Bar Association's Distinguished Service Award, and was the first female to receive the Distinguished Alumna Award from the University of Kansas School of Law
