We scheduled an appointment to leave our three dogs while we went on vacation based upon referrals from friends. we were made a quote, and paid the up-front fee. The dogs were well cared for, but when we picked them up, the bill was almost 200.00 more than what we had been quoted! We paid it, as they would not release our dogs until we did, and no manager was on site to speak to. The next business day we called to speak to a manager who, would not come to the phone, but had one of the girls tell us that we could have a day of play care for each of our dogs for the inconvenience. They would not admit it was their mistake even though I still had all my notes from the initial conversation. I would not recommend this kennel to anyone. They are deceitful and dishonest, and severely lacking in professionalism and customer service.

This is clearly a "review" written by the owner or an employee of this establishment. As a past customer I can tell you that the staff has been terrible and unfriendly for years and no one seemed to care. I complained more than once and received no response and no change in the behavior of the employees. Perhaps they aren't paid enough? I don't know, but after my dog was dragged to the back while the woman holding his leash read a piece of paper, paying zero attention to what she was doing, I won't be back. Ever.

We've been customers for years of AHKC and the only place where I would entrust the grooming of my dogs to their long-time professional groomer, Miguel. He's extremely patient and meticulous even with dogs that aren't the most cooperative about standing still. I also appreciate the great new front office staff and their helpfulness at accommodating our requests for grooming appointments and any special needs. I can't recommend more highly the grooming services and customer attention at AHKC, so if you haven't tried it at all or been there in awhile you should make it a point to check it out. You won't be sorry!

our dogs, gus and colonel, just love alamo heights kennel club. the staff there is professional, kind, and they really care about their animal guests. we have been boarding our dogs there for several years now. when we are on the way down sunset, where ahkc is located, our dogs get extremely excited. they cannot wait to get there.

I went in to take my dog for a grooming. The women was on the phone talking with another customer. No problem. Then another women came in with her two dogs. When all the dogs came in, the dogs in the kennels started barking and making noise. The women on the phone yelled, "Be Quiet", to the dogs barking. She got off the phone, asked me what I was here for and told her I was here for my dog to be groomed. She asked me his name...I told her...asked again...told her again...asked again with rudeness...told her again. Then she asked for our last name. It was in there under our last name. Then she asked very rude..."Do you have his papers?". I showed her and then I realize I had a paper stuck to my dogs papers...I took it away to grab the other paper and she said rudely, "I need those papers." I looked at her and told her..."Well, you don't need my business." I walked out. I was so disgusted by her attitude, the attitude that she yelled at the dogs and how she treated me. If she treated me like that...I can't even imagine how they treat the animals that are brought it. Website is very nice...but the facilities are terrible and the staff was extremely rude! I will never take my pets there again and I would suggest that you don't either!
