He did his internship in general surgery for one year and pediatrics for one year. He completed his internal medicine residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. He worked as an emergency room physician for one year at Wayne State University. He moved to Santa Maria, California in 1984 and established his practice with Central Coast Family Care. He has been awarded an honorary degree in cardiology from the American Academy of Cardiology.

He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Occidental College, was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society at USC School of Medicine, and is board certified in Family Practice. He is married, has two children, and enjoys hiking, biking, and skiing.

Medical School in New Orleans and finished his residency at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa in 1995. His smaller office has an intentionally slower pace.
