About the Sanctuary With a limited number of boarding kennels serving western Ventura County, C.A.R.L. has several advantages that are essential for growth and to continually provide benefits to our community and animals it serves. With room for expansion we can provide additional services. Our facility is zoned to protect the kennel from residential development and the resulting complaints about barking dogs. Our Mission Providing high-quality care with kindness in a home away from home to meet both the needs of Ventura County's loving pet owners as well as generating revenue for the Rescue. C.A.R.L. Carl's Pet Care Center offers a variety of boarding options for dogs and cats. The facility includes indoor and outdoor runs with a view of entry area and play yards. It provides flea and tick treatment services. The facility features a cottages and scratching posts for cats. Carl's Pet Care Center offers various professional animal care services, as well as conducts exercise sessions. It provides a range of grooming services that includes shampooing, nail clipping, ear cleaning and hairstyling. The facility has outdoor play yards for group and individual play activities. Amenities

Small to medium dogs as well as seniors are generally housed in our indoor/outdoor runs. The indoor area of these runs are 4' x 5' with a guillotine (doggie door type) which allows for unlimited access to the outdoor area throughout the day. The outdoor area of these runs are 5' x 10' with a view of our play yards and front entry area. The guillotine doors are closed at nightfall for your pet's comfort and security. Larger dogs are housed in our outdoor runs. The outdoor runs are covered 6' x '12' chain link with completely enclosed brick dog house style cubbies. All dogs housed in the outdoor runs receive a minimum of 1 hour daily in our gravel exercise runs. All dogs are provided with elevated beds and bedding. If your pet has a favorite bed or blanket at home you are more than welcome to bring it along for your pet's comfort. For your pet's safety and everybody's piece of mind, C.A.R.L.'s Pet Care Center has live in caretaker staff. Our caretakers make periodic bed and well-being checks throughout the night. Our Executive Director is also on call 24 hours a day. Your pet's comfort and safety are our #1 concern.
