- WNMU Museum invites you to explore the prehistory and history of Southwest New Mexico and learn why people throughout the ages have selected this rich and enchanting region as their home. The recently completed stunning transformation of Fleming Hall, funded by the 2016 Higher Education G.O. The Museum is a work in progress. We continue to enhance the visitor experience by finishing exhibitions, creating interpretative signage, and opening additional rooms. Western New Mexico University Museum is the home of the NAN Ranch Collection—the largest and most complete collection of Mimbres materials in existence from a single prehistoric Mimbres site, and the largest and most comprehensive permanent interpretative exhibition of Mimbres pottery and artifacts in the world.WNMU Museum invites you to explore the prehistory and history of Southwest New Mexico and learn why people throughout the ages have selected this rich and enchanting region as their home.
