- Dental CareStudies show that approximately 80% of dogs and cats over three years of age are affected by some type of dental disease. Left untreated, pet dental problems will result in discomfort, pain, and possible loss of teeth. In addition, untreated dental problems can also lead to major health problems as well. Infected gums and tartar buildup on a pet’s teeth play host to a large number of bacteria, which can find their way to other parts of the animal’s body.
- VaccinationHeartworm Test: Heartworm disease is spread through a mosquito, since they are around our other groomers and boarders this can be transmitted to other dogs.Should your pet be lacking any of these vaccinations or tests, we can work with you to ensure your pet is up to date and ready to enjoy their stay or grooming services with us.
- Behavioral CounselingBehavioral problems can be caused by a variety of things such as bad experiences, a lack of socialization at a young age, medical problems, and even genetics. Unfortunately, behavioral problems are very common with our furry companions today. Most behavioral problems are an expression of fear and anxiety, though not all.
- Nutritional CounselingObesity is a problem veterinarians are noticing much more frequently, and it can lead to more serious conditions such as diabetes and arthritis. We can recommend changes in your pet’s diet and exercise activity, as well as other weight management programs to help him or her shed excess weight to help avoid problems later in life.
- Comprehensive ExaminationAt least once a year, you should bring your pet in for a check-up. This will include a full physical exam, annual bloodwork, the appropriate vaccines for your pet’s lifestyle, and may include teeth and gum cleaning if needed. We taylor each pet’s visit to their own, unique needs and requirements so that they can stay healthy and happy! Our doctors will check the health of your pet from head to tail.
- Parasites Treatment and ControlFecal Test: Bi-annual requirement. This test is for intestinal parasites, most of which are spread through feces. Dogs go to the bathroom in common areas and can easily contract an intestinal parasite. Further some of these can be “zoonotic” meaning they can spread to humans.
- Pain ManagementVeterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of quality patient care. We take a progressive approach to pain management addressing each patient’s level of discomfort. This is why with any treatment or operation that we deem to have any level of pain, we provide both pre- and post- procedure comfort for your pet.

We are happy to employ professional groomers in our hospital because we believe that it offers many conveniences to you as a client. - Periodontal Disease TreatmentWhen professional dental prophylaxis is indicated, we utilize hand scaling, high-speed dental equipment, and the most up-to-date products for your pet. Our Licensed Veterinary Technicians are trained to scale, clean and polish teeth to create a smooth, healthy tooth and gum surface that is more resistant to disease. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity. Our Veterinarians do a thorough examination of your pet’s teeth, gums, and oral cavity, including taking digital X-rays of your pet’s teeth. In the event of significant periodontal disease, our veterinarians are trained in both major and minor extractions. If extractions are needed, we focus on appropriate antibiotic therapy and pain management using nerve blocks so your pet is comfortable during recovery. Your pet is safe with Greenfield Animal Hospital!

- Dog TrainingTracy has just celebrated her 10th year with Greenfield and her 10th foster dog! Briggs, her ex-leader dog, gets along with all the fosters and helps acclimate them to living in a home. They help the fosters learn to take social cues from other dogs and how to behave in a home environment. Tracy, her husband, Pete, and Briggs enjoy camping, Disney, and baseball. Briggs is even named after a baseball stadium! One of Tracy’s favorite parts about being a Licensed Veterinary Technician is client education and teaching owners about puppy training.
