      Located in Springfield, Mo., Adult Inpatient Psychiatry is a 20-plus-bed acute care unit within Cox North and is open 24 hours a day throughout the week. It serves patients between 18 and 54 years of age who experience significant loss of functional abilities due to stress, anxiety, and thought and mood disorders. The facility also works to evaluate inpatient psychiatry, significant concerns and make recommendations for continued treatment. Adult Inpatient Psychiatry maintains an interdisciplinary team that is comprised of various psychiatrists, psychologists, registered and licensed nurses, social workers, certified recreational therapists and psychiatric technicians. It additionally utilizes patient-focused care model and coordinates with patients, families and guardians. Adult Inpatient Psychiatry is a part of CoxHealth, which operates more than 50 physician clinics in Missouri.
