I'm not sure if the general public is aware, but Hospice charges a daily rate for their service, even if the patient is only seen 2 or 3 times a week, they are charged $175 EVERY DAY! the patient's insurance will pay for a brief time, as will Medicare part A, but Hospice placed my family member in their care for over 6 months, insurance refused to pay, and TC Hospice billed my family! for nearly $15,000! unconscionable.......

I always thought hospice was suppose to help, but my dad has end stage pancreatic cancer and is allergic to morphine. TC hospice keeps forcing the morphine, because Hydrocodone (which works great for him), containes Tylenol which they say "could harm his liver." So instead of making him cfortable, he is in agony. But hey, after he dies, he will still have good liver!

I was diagnosed with Dffuse Large B Cell and FOLLICULAR T CELL (No cure). Hoapica came in last Spring for awhile but the steroid brought the "spot" in my liver to shrink. It was then that they removed tumor from bile duct, months later i developeed sarcomas all throughout my body. Tried DEPSERATELY TO GET A BIOPSY FOR A "DIAGNOSIS" , but not one DR was willing to biopsy any of the sarcomas growing thorughout my body. VERY PAINFUL. I am suffering and dying but all "hospitce" keeps telling me is that I am considered "in remission!!" blocking me from the hospice care. I am a DNR that wishes to die at HOME, but you at hospice keep telling me is "call an ambulance and go to the hospital!"...I ALWAYS THOUGHT HOSPICE WAS SO YOU COULD HAVE THE DIGNITY OF DYING AT HOME WITHOUT SEVER SUFFERING. APPARENTLY, THIS IS NOT TRUE. MAKES ME REGRET THE SUPPORT I GAVE HOSPICE MONETARILY FOR MOST OF MY LIFE. SHAME ON YOU, TREASURE COAST HOSPICE! SHAME ON YOU FRO MAKING ME SUFFER THIS LAST LITTLE BIT WITH NO HELP FROM YOU!!!!
