      On January 1, 2016 Dr. Pramod Malik set out to establish his independent practice, VIRGINIA GASTROENTEROLOGY INSTITUTE, to be able to provide for his patients and referring physicians the same outstanding level of care he has always strived for. While the location of his practice has changed, his philosophy of patient care has not: “the best interest of the patient is the ONLY interest to be considered.” He will also be actively engaged in clinical research activities through Virginia Research Institute to provide the latest diagnostic and treatment options to his patients. Dr. Malik is currently practicing in Suffolk, on the campus of Sentara Obici Hospital and in Franklin, on the campus of Southampton Memorial Hospital. He also has privileges at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News. Addresses and links to these locations are provided below. He regrets the inconvenience caused to his existing patients. Please check this website for any updates. All patients are seen by appointments only. Please do not ask for any medical advice by email and do not include any sensitive, private, and identifiable information in emails. The website has links to the easy-to-use, electronic medical record patient portal, Athena Health. After you are enrolled, it is safe and secure to communicate medical information via the portal. It requires a valid email address from you. As a patient, you are free to choose any healthcare service provider. If you wish to see Dr.Malik at Virginia Gastro, please download the forms to get your medical records released from the practice where you were seen in the past. Note that this may, in some instances, take up to 2 weeks.
