This is the best sushi that I have had in a very long time. It stands with the best!

It is fresh, the fish is well cut, NOT so thin you can see through it.

All the ingredients were very fresh which give you a better tasting sushi. The rice was perfect, not too sticky not falling apart before you are ready. The menu is fresh with a wide choice of sushi - sashimi and other Japanese dishes from different areas of Japan that you do not see often. Everything we ordered was excellent and we feel we have found a wonderful place to treat ourselves to great Japanese food of the highest quality. Also, this place is very clean.

Normally every Friday night my fiancé and I go out to dinner. We usually drive around until we find something we would like to try and go for the challenge, change, what ever you want to call it. We came across this little restaurant called Sushi Yoshi. I was a little hesitant with its location, however quaint and tranquil were my thought by the end of the evening from this establishment. From the moment I entered to my departure, I was pleased throughout my entire experience. The server was attentive to our every needs in notifying the specials, to recommendations. From the Mi so Soup to begin with, to Shrimp Tempura for my main course, it was spectacular. But the one thing that I enjoyed the most was at the end of evening, it was the desert I had. The Green Tea Crème Brulee. This was something I had never had and that was so unique, I absolutely enjoyed it until it was dish was completely clean, so to speak . Overall service, presentation, food, and atmosphere, I have to say this is one of the best dining experiences that I have endured.

I have visited this place many times in the past few months. Once when the place was busy and once when the place was slow. Both times were very enjoyable. Even though the place was busy, the server was very attentive to my needs. I have found no problems with the service in my visits. So they must have a new staff since the previous reviews were written.



I order some tea, which was wonderful! Brought out in an actual teapot rather than left on the table in a cheap plastic teapot that some sushi places do. I highly recommend the iced green tea with is made with matcha, not from a tea bag! All the food was arranged thoughtfully on its plate, as if the chief had been taught by or was in fact a professional. I was highly impressed with the quality and the taste of the sushi that I ordered. The wasabi and ginger seem to be the real deal, not the fake bright green wasabi most places have. The ginger wasn't died pink either and I overheard a customer as the sushi chief about it and the chief said it was organic. Apparently they try to use organic ingredients as much as they possibly can.

If you've never had good sushi before, Sushi Yoshi will suffice. But as a transplant from California, I can say this place really doesn't compare to even a mediocre Japanese restaurant in the LA area.

but it wasn't good either. i didn't care for the lack of attentiveness from the staff. not good enough for me to return considering the other places in the area.

i thought the fish was relatively fresh--but my main gripe was the service. i went on a weekend and had to wait awhile for a table because there's not a lot of seating. a small group of people came in that apparently the hostess knew and she seated them before us. i asked her about it and she said claimed they had made reservations, but it didn't seem like it to me. if we weren't so hungry we probably would have walked out. of course...we ended up having to wait almost an hour for our food. grrr!

I had heard all the hype about this local sushi restaurant when they first opened. I had a chance to try this restaurant for the first time last night and was extremely disappointed. The main negative was the unfresh fish. I didn't get food poisoning, but you could tell that they apparently don't turn over their fish as regularly as other places around here. On top of that, they botched up our order and were slow to rectify. In fact, the older lady that seated us tried to blame our party for not ordering correctly. Needless to say, I was embarrassed to have recommended trying this restaurant to my friends, and I definitely won't be recommending it based on my poor experience last night.
