      The Thousand Oaks Police Department works to prevent crimes and enforces laws and ordinances. It handles cases related to homicide, rape, robbery, theft and burglary. The department conducts classes for parents with defiant and problematic children. The Thousand Oaks Police Department operates a citizen's academy and community resource center. It offers fingerprinting, vacation house check and home security surveying services. The department administers the Sheriff s Teen Traffic Offender Program, as well as maintains a traffic bureau. The Thousand Oaks Police Department provides patrol services and conducts neighborhood watch programs. The department is governed by the city of Thousand Oaks in California. It works in collaboration with the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.
