Nice friendly clean local however they threw us out after our event stating they had another immediately following and needed to prepare, no time to socialize with friends nor any direction to another area where we could chat.

Attended a wedding there. Food was cold and service was sub par at best. Staff was friendly for the most part. Has an old musty smell. Maybe they are still remodeling. I would pick a newer place if ever planning an affair.

Attended a reception recently. As anyone in the industry knows, its all about what is on the plate. Food was pleasing to the eye and to the palate. Entree was hot. My compliments to the Chef!! Not an easy task when attendance is high. Service on the other hand was lacking. Crumbing tables and refolding of napkins highly suggested. Tray jacks with garbage a big no-no!! I give concessions to a new venture and judge accordingly. Best wishes!!

Went to a big reception there in the summer. The food was much better than expected, knowing that most big functions have just so so food. The food was really good and the service was great. The whole place is immaculate. I was so impressed that we went back for Valentine's day and had a really great meal.

Went to a wedding recently and I was not impressed. The biggest negative that I can say is the service. The service is awful. I undestand that John Henry has a pretty good restaurant but what these people have to realize is that running a banquet facility is different than serving a table of four. There wasn't enough staff and the ambiance wasn't as elegant as it should be for a wedding - wait staff looked disheveled and inexperienced with no sense of urgency. What is the dress code here? The facilities were ok but the crystal chandeliers looked like they havn't been cleaned in 15 years. Come on guys, a little more attention to detail couldn't hurt. Unless they fix what they are doing wrong, I DO NOT recommend.

We attended a reception at the new Stone Terrace by John Henry's in August, and it was fantastic! This place has been beautifully remodeled, the food is excellent as was the service. Would highly recommend The Stone Terrace to everyone.

Planning on a wedding perhaps in April - can any one else comment? Have you been here? Is it good?

Lack of attention to guests and food was horrible. Recently went to event at the stone terrace and all of the servers acted like we were not even in the room. I know they are coming from John Henrys restaurant in Trenton but maybe cooking for more than 60 guests at a time they can't handle. Everything was overcooked and dry. There are better places to go in Hamilton that act like they want you to be there.

They do not deserve any stars. We had our reception here in 9/03. The girl there informed us the day before (when we set up the reception) not to worry about anything, and that her and Tony would be available to us. Hurricane Isabelle was there a couple days before, and they did not even clean up the branches at the entrances even though they said they would. It was a mess. The wedding party did not receive anything to eat as far as h'doerves, nor anything to drink. We had to ask them 3 times. I asked the girl to get Tony, and she said he was unavailable. That's funny I just had seen him run into the kitchen after he saw me. I never saw him after that. The dinner was served 3.5 hours after we arrived, and that was 1 hr before the reception ended. If it was not for our DJ friend trying to get everyone's mind off of not being served, the reception would have been a total disaster. My husband and I already informed many people to never hold their reception here. Horrible!!

Went to a wedding here. They refused to set up anything for the ceremony or any decorations in the reception hall. (They were told it would be handled for them) Appetizers were overcooked & dried out. Main course wasn't served until about 1 1/2 hours before the end of reception and the roast beef I had was still frozen in the middle (literally). They didn't even turn on the lights so that you could see your way through the separate bar room which is where one of the rest rooms is located! Avoid at all cost!
