- General Info
- The Arts Center of the Capital Region is a private, not-for-profit corporation that began life as the Rensselaer County Council for the Arts in 1962. In its early years, it was located in a brownstone mansion on Troy’s Washington Park. Art classes were offered for the first time there in 1965, with the mansion‚ converted ballroom and formal dining rooms serving as an art gallery.

- By Car Street parking is plentiful. However, during the day, from 9-5, it is limited to two hour increments. There is a public parking facility at the corner of River and 3rd Streets, across from the Uncle Sam statue. Note about Saturday parking: During the summer months, The Troy Waterfront Farmer’s Market is located on River St from 9 A.M. to 2 P.M. We recommend parking on Front Street in the permit lot (you will not be ticketed), in the parking garage in The Atrium at Fulto
