- Dental ExaminationThere are a lot of factors that help us decide whether a patient is a good candidate for same day implants and teeth. Medical history concerns, amount of existing bony support, and overall oral health are three of the most important. At East Hudson OMS, we do a comprehensive oral exam, photos, and a 3 Dimensional Cone Beam CT image at your consultation visit and review all of the findings to find out which treatment options are best for you. Once that is done, we work closely with your restorative dentist to finalize and organize all of the details, so that all three of us understand the whole treatment process. Once the treatment plan is set, we send the surgical guide to the lab for fabrication.
- X-raysDigital radiography (digital x-ray) is the latest technology used to take dental x-rays. This technique uses an electronic sensor (instead of x-ray film) that captures and stores the digital image on a computer. This image can be instantly viewed and enlarged helping the oral surgeon and dental hygienist detect problems more easily. Digital x-rays reduce radiation by 80 – 90% compared to the already low exposure of traditional dental x-rays.

- Fluoride TreatmentPreventing dental disease starts at home with good oral hygiene and a balanced diet. It is continued in the dental office by the efforts of your oral surgeon and dental hygienist to promote, restore, and maintain your oral health. Additionally, prevention includes regular dental exams, cleanings, and x-rays. Sealants and fluoride are also great preventive treatments that help protect the teeth. Prevention helps avoid serious and costly dental problems and is the key to having a healthy, confident, beautiful smile.
- Dental SealantsAs a practice, we are true believers that preventative care and education are the keys to optimal dental health. We strive to provide "dental health care" vs. "disease care." That's why we focus on thorough exams - checking the overall health of your teeth and gums, performing oral cancer exams, and taking x-rays when necessary. We also know that routine cleanings, flossing, sealants, and fluoride are all helpful in preventing dental disease. Not only are we focused on the beauty of your smile, we're also concerned about your health. A review of your medical history can help us stay informed of your overall health, any new medications, and any illnesses that may impact your dental health.
- CrownsWhen both the tooth and root are damaged, the best permanent replacement is a dental implant in conjunction with a ceramic crown. This solution both looks and functions just like a natural tooth. This means that all components are installed as a single unit, resulting in immediately full functioning teeth, shorter treatment time and minimized pain.
- BridgesAfter the initial examination, you can expect multiple additional visits until the final fixed bridge is permanently attached. It is normal to experience some minor bruising and swelling in the gum and soft tissue afterwards.
- Dentures1. Denture patients who are tired of putting their teeth in a cup every night, and want the look, feel, and confidence that fixed implant restorations can provide.
- Dental ImplantsIn order for implants to function at their very best, they must be placed in the correct position. In order to do that, you must know where the bone is in all 3 dimensions, and where the future tooth is supposed to be. Once you know both of those variables, you can line up the proposed implant in the perfect place. This alignment is achieved by using two essential pieces of technology together in harmony. Cerec scanning allows a virtual impression, or what some people call dental molds. Once the Cerec digital impression scan is done, the data is superimposed onto the Cone Beam CT radiographic image. Now we have the bone and the future tooth all lined up, and we can virtually place the implant to be perfectly aligned. Once that is complete, the file is emailed to the lab, where they 3D print the guide and send it back. The surgical guide is used in the surgery to place the implants in the perfectly aligned positions.
- Oral SurgeryInfection control in our oral surgery office is also very important to us. To protect our patients and ourselves, we strictly maintain sterilization and cross contamination processes using standards recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
- Jaw SurgeryCorrective jaw surgery — known as orthognathic surgery — refers to the surgical correction needed to fix substantial abnormalities of the maxilla (upper jaw), the mandible (lower jaw), or both. This surgery is generally performed by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon to correct malocclusion (bad bite) in cases where routine orthodontic treatment has not or will not be effective. Misalignment can seriously damage the function and aesthetic appearance of the teeth in many ways if left untreated.
- Maxillofacial SurgeryHere at East Hudson Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, we provide patients with the latest in oral sleep appliance technology to resolve sleep apnea. Studies show that customized oral sleep appliances provide excellent relief for mild to moderate sleep apnea conditions.
- Tooth ExtractionsWisdom teeth extractions are most often performed because of an active problem such as pain, swelling, decay, infection, or as a preventative measure to avoid serious problems in the future. If impaction of one or more wisdom teeth is present, and left untreated, a number of potentially harmful outcomes can occur, including...
