Medicare is health insurance for people age 65 or older, under age 65 with certain disabilities, and any age with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a kidney transplant).Medicare has the following parts: * Part A (Hospital Insurance) * Part B (Medical Insurance) * Part C (Medicare Advantage Plans, like an HMO or PPO) * Part D (Medicare prescription drug coverage) When can I make changes to my coverage You can make changes to your Medicare health or prescription drug coverage between November 15 & December 31 each year. If you are eligible for a Medicare Advantage Plan, you can also join a Medicare Advantage Plan between January 1 & March 31 each year. Depending on your situation, there may be other times when you can change your Medicare health or prescription drug coverage.
