The tension is so thick in this once great spa that you can cut it with a knife! A spa is supposed to be relaxing, not full of in fighting between the spa director and the poor non management employees! No thanks! There are too many other spas that have NO drama!

great customer service

I love getaways with either my mom (Yes! my mom.) or my BFF. They are a great way to spend quality time together and to be pampered in a way that only ladies do understand. One of our favorite past time is to go on spa. Spa is probably one of the many effective ways to unwind and just feel good without literally thinking of anything. This has in a way sort of become a hobby at least for me. This actually started when my BFF got dumped by her ex-boyfriend and I couldn't think of a way to treat her out and forget about everything even just for a little while. I am not really the world's greatest "conversationist" when it comes to break-up stuffs and things like that but that's where innovation comes in. :) So, I decided to treat my girlfriend to a spa instead of eating or drinking her problems out. We talked while we got our massage and everything went perfectly. Thanks for all the staff for treating me and my BFF some sort of VIPs. This will be my humble payback for your excellent service!

fave hangout!

This spa is one of my favorite hangouts. I usually drop by here during weekends with my BFF Jenny to unwind and to start the week right. xoxo

My experience

I've been to many spas throughout Southern California and I was thrilled when this one opened in my town. I've been there twice and each time I had a massage service and attempted to enjoy the common areas of the spa. Unfortunately, I was seriously disappointed both times. The spa is very poorly designed. The jacuzzi is located in the middle of the ladies' locker room, surrounded by hair drying stations. Therefore, the entire time you're in the jacuzzi, you're treated to the constant sound of hair dryers and cabinet doors slamming as the housekeeping staff do their job, as well as the echoing voices of other patrons who are chit-chatting with their friends and other spa goers. It is not a peaceful experience at all. The same is true for the steam room - also located from within the ladies' locker room - all the annoying sounds described above can be heard from inside the steam room.

The only enjoyable part of both of my visits to this location of Glen Ivy Day Spa was the private massage service which of course was in a private massage therapy room. However, most people go to the spa for the full spa experience. If I wanted JUST a massage, I could go to any number of other massage therapy providers in town and skip the part where I'm undressing in front of all the other women patrons - including those sitting in the jacuzzi staring at all there is to look at - other women, undressing and blow drying their hair and housekeeping staff slamming cabinet doors.

After my experiences there, I've decided it's worth the long drive to go to one of the many Burke Williams' spa locations in the Los Angeles area. It stinks to have to drive far for a truly relaxing and enjoyable spa experience, but unfortunately that is not what a person can find at Glen Ivy Day Spa in Valencia.

This is the ultimate in complete pampering. The salon is clean, quiet, and extremely relaxing. I have never had a bad massage here. The staff are all very good at what they do. It is a little on the high priced side, but if you have the cash, well worth your time!!
