- ArthritisRheumatoid arthritis, an inflammation of the joints, is a disabling disease that can affect the appearance and the function of the hands and other parts of the body. It often deforms finger joints and forces the fingers into a bent position that hampers movement.
- Medical Weight LossYou should be aware that breast implants are not guaranteed to last a lifetime and future surgery may be required to replace one or both implants. Pregnancy, weight loss and menopause may influence the appearance of augmented breasts over the course of a woman’s lifetime. Breast augmentation requires maintenance over time, including regular examinations for breast health and to evaluate the condition of your implants.

- Cancer CarePrior to joining Salmon Creek Plastic Surgery, Dr. Kate was an Assistant Professor at Marshall University where she further mastered the art of plastic and reconstructive surgery, while providing care in an underserved area. She has a special interest in breast and body contouring, facelift, otoplasty, as well as skin cancer care.
- Carpal Tunnel SyndromeDr. Green prefers to use a technique called the endoscopic carpal tunnel release to surgically treat carpal tunnel syndrome. In this operation, a small transverse incision is made in the wrist rather than on the palm, and a scope is passed into the carpal tunnel. A small blade is then deployed to release the roof of the carpal tunnel (the transverse carpal ligament) while watching on a video screen. This technique avoids cutting the sensitive tissues at the base of the palm and preserves the muscles at the base of the thumb. Instead of a splint and a bulky dressing, only a small bandage is applied to the wrist. Patients report that their overall recovery and return to work are approximately twice as fast using the endoscopic release as compared to the older style “open” carpal tunnel release.
- UltrasoundA few years ago, we began using a technique called “SAFELipo,” a surgical fat reduction procedure pioneered by Dr. Simeon Wall, a well-respected plastic surgeon in Louisiana. This method does not depend upon laser or ultrasound energy to break up the fat prior to removal, but rather uses specially designed cannulas (hollow tubes) to loosen the fat prior to standard suctioning, and then again at the end of the procedure to smooth the remaining tissues. We perform this surgery in our operating room under general anesthesia to ensure patient comfort.
- X-Rays
- MammographyFollowing the procedure, mammography is technically more difficult. Obtaining the best possible results requires specialized techniques and additional views. You must be candid about your implants when undergoing any diagnostic breast exam. A mammogram may be recommended prior to your procedure to ensure breast health and serve as a baseline for future comparison.
- ChemotherapyIf the cancer is large, however, or if it has spread to the lymph glands or elsewhere in the body, major surgery may be required. Other possible treatments for skin cancer include cryosurgery (freezing the cancer cells), radiation therapy (using x-rays), topical chemotherapy (anti-cancer drugs applied to the skin), and Mohs surgery, a special procedure in which the cancer is shaved off one layer at a time. (Mohs surgery is performed only by specially trained physicians and often requires a reconstructive procedure as follow-up.)
- Radiation TherapySometimes a mastectomy or radiation therapy will leave insufficient tissue on the chest wall to cover and support a breast implant. The use of a breast implant for reconstruction almost always requires either a flap technique or tissue expansion.
- General SurgeryDr. Green trained in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at Loyola University at Chicago, finishing in 1995. He then completed a fellowship in Hand and Microvascular Surgery at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City in 1996. He is board certified in Plastic Surgery and a member of both the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Green is recognized as an expert in aesthetic laser technology and regularly travels about the country lecturing on this subject to physicians and other providers of these services.

- Hand SurgeryAfter medical school, she completed two competitive residencies in both general surgery and plastic surgery from two well-known universities, UC Davis and Indiana University respectively. While at Indiana University, she had extensive training in aesthetic, reconstructive, microsurgery, and hand surgery. After completing her training at IU, Dr. Namkung took her skills to the Bay Area, where she was an associate at a successful private practice.
- HysterectomyPain Control: Most patients will need a combination of narcotic pain medication and muscle relaxants after this surgery. At Salmon Creek Plastic Surgery, we now also offer Exparel® as an option for our patients. Exparel® is a long acting numbing medication which lasts three to four days. It is injected along the incision and the abdominal wall to provide long lasting pain relief. If you’ve had a hysterectomy or a c-section, then recovery from a tummy tuck will feel quite similar.
- Mohs Surgery
- Reconstructive SurgeryDr. Kate then trained at the University of Washington in Seattle, one of the top 3 plastic surgery residencies in the country. There she completed her six-year integrated plastic and reconstructive surgery residency in 2020 under the guidance of world-renowned leaders in all aspects of the vast field of plastic surgery.
- BotoxThere are a number of ways we can lesson the appearance of these folds and creases. Often, patients assume BOTOX® is the answer. However, what many people need to address their concerns are “fillers,” any one of a number of clear gels that replace lost volume and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles when injected into or under the skin. We commonly use the Juvéderm
- Brow LiftSkin resurfacing techniques may be recommended to further improve the tone and surface appearance of skin surrounding the eye, and in some cases as a substitute for excision of minimal excess lower eyelid skin. Where a low positioned brow or crows’ feet at the outer corner of the eyes contribute to the aging appearance of the eyes, a browlift may be more appropriate than, or recommended in conjunction with, eyelid surgery. In addition, a brow lift can also smooth a lined or furrowed forehead.
- Eyelid SurgeryLike any cosmetic procedure, eyelid surgery requires an individualized approach. Your plastic surgeon will evaluate patient anatomy, the condition you wish to have corrected, what is causing the condition and your realistic goals for improvement. Eyelid surgery can offer dramatic improvement in the upper and lower eyelids and surrounding regions. This degree of correction of drooping eyelids, puffiness or bags can only be achieved surgically, by repositioning muscle, redistributing fat that has settled into contours and when necessary by removing excess skin.
- LiposuctionWhile liposuction remains one of the most common cosmetic procedures performed in the United States, many people are confused about how the surgery is done and which technique is best.
- Breast AugmentationWhen you are recovering from a breast augmentation, you won’t feel like doing a lot for the first few days.
- Breast ReductionWhen you are recovering from a breast reduction, you won’t feel like doing a lot for the first few days. If drains are used, they will often be removed after just a few days.”
- Breast LiftBreast lift is a highly individualized procedure achieved through a variety of incision patterns and techniques. The appropriate technique for your case will be determined based on...
- Breast ReconstructionBreast reconstruction is achieved through several plastic surgery techniques that attempt to restore a breast to near normal shape, appearance and size following mastectomy.
- Plastic SurgeryOur surgeons are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and members of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
- Face LiftThis procedure was pioneered in Europe and is now used throughout the United States. Officially the short scar facelift technique that we practice is called the MACS (Minimal Access Cranial Suspension) Lift – and we think it’s the best. We prefer this technique because traditional facelifts can give you an unnatural and “windswept” look immediately after surgery. With this technique, the skin is pulled up, not back, for a more natural looking lift. In addition to having shorter scars and a more natural look, you also will experience shorter recovery times. Patients can go back to the office usually 2 weeks after the surgery. Many of our patients receive comments from friends about how they look well-rested or how their new haircut makes them look younger.
- Neck LiftDepending on the elasticity of your skin, diet and sun exposure, your short scar facelift and neck lift should last for 5 to 7 years or longer.
- BlepharoplastyThe least invasive approach is a newer technique called the TransBleph Browlift. With this approach, your surgeon performs a brow lift and upper eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) through a single, upper lid incision. During blepharoplasty, the surgeon makes an incision in the crease of your upper lid and removes excess skin. This same, upper lid incision provides direct access to the brow. To perform a TransBleph browlift, the upper lid incision is advanced (not increased in size) down to the outer portion of the bone above the eye socket, known as the orbital rim. A small anchoring hole is made in the bone. The ENDOTINE TransBleph fixation device is then placed into the hole under the skin. The brow is raised to the desired height and the TransBleph fixation device securely holds the tissue in its new and elevated position during healing. Once healing is complete, the TransBleph fixation device is naturally absorbed by the body.
- AbdominoplastyIf you have excess skin on your belly or your belly seems too round, then abdominoplasty, or a tummy tuck, is a procedure to consider. We will start this procedure with some liposuction on the flanks. Then we will remove any excess skin from the belly and perhaps tighten the abdominal wall to remove the round appearance to the belly. Once you’ve recovered from the procedure you will have a flatter tummy and a trimmer waist, much like you had prior to pregnancy.
- Otoplasty
- Body ContouringIf you are closer to your weight goals and are looking for a non-invasive procedure, we use truSculpt®, a comfortable, easy, and natural procedure that uses radio frequency waves to help remove fat and aid in body contouring.

- Forehead LiftA forehead lift or “browlift” is a procedure that restores a more youthful, refreshed look to the area above the eyes. The procedure corrects drooping brows and improves the horizontal lines and furrows that can make a person appear angry, sad or tired. Often when patients feel they have sagging upper eyelids, in fact they have a sagging browline. Though no absolute aesthetic ideal exists for every person, typically if one manually raises the eyebrows it becomes clear what a forehead rejuvenation can accomplish.
- Skin CancerSkin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. More than 500,000 new cases are reported each year-and the incidence is rising faster than any other type of cancer. While skin cancers can be found on any part of the body, about 80 percent appear on the face, head, or neck, where they can be disfiguring as well as dangerous.

- Physical TherapyDisabilities caused by rheumatoid arthritis can often be managed without surgery by wearing special splints or using physical therapy to strengthen weakened areas. For some patients, however, surgery offers the best solution. Whether or not to have surgery is a decision you should make in consultation with your surgeon and your rheumatologist.
