Defina's Italian Restaurant, located at 1965 Tamiami Trail S., is located within a strip shopping center in Venice, Florida. On a dinner visit with a party of six, our choices included veal parm, chicken parm, and tilapia. The long and short of this poor review has to do with the presentation of the platters as well as the unintended poor service. The tilapia, served with risoto had but a sprig of green garnish to help distract from the visually unattractive bland serving. In addition, this relatively inexpensive fish was not in keeping with what was expected. In other words, the fish portion was pretty darn small. Additionally, the flavor was acceptable, but little more. Of course, this is a bland fish, so no one expected taste sensations that would be memorable. Our server mixed the veal and chicken, but because of similar appearance and discussion at the table, A bottle of Pellegrino cost $5, and this was not explained in advance. There are better places for Italian food around.
