Services I specialize in: arithmetic, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, Pre-calculus, basic science, Biology, GED prep, mathematical aspects of the PAST/NMSQT, SAT and ACT, creating home school curriculum. I am proficient at helping students who are challenging themselves to go farther than they could alone, as well as those with learning disabilities. When starting with a new client I usually ask to give a free consultation where mathematical diagnostic testing is done to establish the students needs and you get to meet me as a tutor. However each clients needs are individual and if you want start right away with homework help or test prep, I will do just that. Taking a broader view than just of the students immediate studies, I ask myself, Who is this person that is coming for help? What are their needs and current abilities? What are their goals? I then teach them with these answers in mind. As needed I can help a student get to the bottom of what is really getting in the way of their studies. Many times I am able to help students get to the point where they do not need a tutor because they are able to understand the subject fully on their own. Helping the reluctant learner change into someone who looks forward to learning while widening their view of the world and the things they can do in it is something I enjoy.
