I have a 2lb 4 yr old yorkie, who needed to have her teeth CLEANED. My local vet was concerned about her small size and anesthesia, so he suggested that I take her to a specialist where they did multiple dentals on tiny dogs. I found the Animal Dental Clinic in Vienna, Va, and Dr. Hall. I asked for an estimate over the phone and was told that a cleaning would be $900, but if they had to do extractions, it could run as high as $2000. Knowing that she would probably need extractions, I prepared for the worst ($2000) and made the appointment. I left my baby with them, and they said my FOUR year old dog needed ALL of her teeth out! If you read other reviews on MANY other sites, you will see that this is this mans game! HARD SELL! By the time it was all over, with NO WARNING..$4500!! How many people can even pay that?? I started crying! For more reasons that one! He offers a 20% discount to military, but ONLY for active duty! WHen I asked, He said he would just stop giving any!

(Different doctor!) With age-17 cat, our concern was enduring anesth/surgry. After tests were normal, Dr. advised/performed full-mouth extraction. ($2,651). Next day (Thu), worried about cats being dehydrated, Dr. Hall advised me: should not concern We gave her lots of fluids during the procedure. She should be all right until Sunday. I allowed next day (Fri) to pass, observing cat mostly sleeping, giving her meds, and trying to give water via dropper. By a.m. Sat., worried more, I called the Clinic, getting recording about M-F hours (no emergency #). Took cat to vet hospital, where they noted: marked dehydration GI bleeding, pain or anesthetic related. By late pm, she was going down, so was euthanized. (Hospital: $791) The Clinics response? Sometimes these things happen for no known reasonyou could have called us Friday. No credit on the bill: we rendered a service. No sense of any responsibility, on their part. She'd still be alive. Move along now.
