Excessive charges to complete car inspection in Virginia Beach....I took my car to the JB's Auto Service on Potomac Street, and after doing the inspection they inevitably put a pink Rejection Sticker on my windshield. So, I inquired as to what was wrong, and the guy at the front desk said that they do not do printouts, and instead gave me a receipt for the inspection with a rather vague description of what was found wrong with the vehicle. This was not satisfactory, and I wanted a more itemized breakdown of the numerous charges expected for a passed inspection, but it was not provided, leaving me to decipher the individual costs of each issue myself. I am not a mechanic, and do not understand these charges, which the garage knew already. They wanted $920 in repairs to pass my vehicle, which is a little old, but I was not about to just fork over almost a thousand dollars for repairs that I was not clearly explained. That having been said, I wish that I could post a negative review of this place to help future motorists, who may or may not believe that JB's is a standup business with integrity. They are NOT, they are slime, who take full advantage of the fact that you re not a mechanic to over-charge you ridiculously, and then refuse to provide a reasonable listing of charges. Instead, they just feel like they can make up a random number, which of course is a HIGH amount, and that you will just hand over the money without understanding the work being done. BE CAREFUL, this garage is exactly what has gone wrong in America today. All of the decent human beings, who used to help each other, have been replaced by sharks, who are only out for themselves!!
