The short version is:This place is just a horribly run referral service. They kept me in the dark, would not return my phone calls, lied a lot, gave me the runaround when I got in touch with them, and they use a false address that is really a hotel. I have reported them and I'm trying to get my money back. The long version is:I first called New Jersey Appliance Repair on Friday, January 27, 2017. The appointment was easy enough to make. I wanted someone who could fix my dryer on the weekend. Getting someone who could fix a Samsung dry was an issue with some places too. A little after 8:00 AM Saturday morning, the next day a technician showed up with an assistant. They operated professionally enough, figured out my drum was cracked, and told me what I would have to pay to get it fixed. I agreed and payed for their service and the cost of the drum. The technician even said he would try to call Samsung to see if there was any coverage. A few hours later he called me and said Samsung wasn't going to help. I thought the fact that the technician tried was a good sign. I was wrong. Over a week went by and I heard nothing. I made a phone call to figure out what was taking so long. The man who answered said that the drum arrived damaged, so they had to send away for another one. But no one had called me and informed me of this. I vented my frustration about that, and the man assured me that someone would call next time. Over a week went by again and I still heard nothing. When I called again, I was passed around by several different people on the lines. I was told the technician tried to call me earlier in the week and left a message. That was a lie. I was also told that the drum wasn't there yet, but when it arrived the owner would come to my place personally, on my schedule, fix everything, and include a discount. I decided to give them one last shot. And, wouldn't you know it, over a week went by again with no phone call. I called them to ask for my money back so I could find someone else. But before I could ask, I was told the technician had called me days prior and left a message again saying he was ready when I was. I said that he lied again, but no one would listen to me. Then they told me they set an appointment for Thursday between 10 o'clock and noon. Baffled, I asked a customer service woman why because I work during those hours and I did not request that appointment. I also asked why he could not come on a Saturday again. She just kept insisting on letting him come finish the job during the week and wanted to know why I couldn't find someone to be there during a workday. She said the technician had personal things to do on Saturday and would not come on the weekend. So, after having me wait over a month while playing phone tag with me, I was being told to use my personal time and inconvenience my job so that they could finish their job and get paid. Being incredibly frustrated and wanting everything over with, I agreed to give my job last minute notice to go into work late on a Tuesday so he could come in the morning and fix the dryer. I did some digging the night before and found out that this company is merely a referral service based out of Arizona. And yet one of the customer service women I talked to on her personal line had a New York City phone number. This had me expecting the worst but hoping for the best the next morning. He was supposed to be there between 8 AM and 10 AM in what was March 7, 2017. And sure enough he was a no call no show. I called and harassed them every way I could that morning demanding satisfaction. In the end they claimed that they fired the technician and agreed to give me a refund. Time will tell if any of that is true. I told the story to the more reputable company I have used since. The man said he has heard similar stories and has had people trying to contact him yet getting transferred to New Jersey Appliance Repair instead. He thinks something fishy is going on and I agree with hi
