      The National Association of County and City Health Officials, also, known as NACCHO, is a national organization that represents local health departments. It supports various local public health practices and systems. The organization s member city, county, metropolitan, district and tribal departments work to protect and promote the health and well-being of people in their communities. The National Association of County and City Health Officials community health projects address a variety of health promotion and disease prevention issues, including HIV, chronic illnesses and other infectious diseases. It also assists health departments in responding to public health emergencies and other disasters.
