      General Info
      Dr. David Guhl was born and raised in the Milwaukee area. He graduated from Marquette University High School in 1986, then earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in exercise physiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His father, Dr. James F. Guhl, MD, was an orthopedic surgeon and one of the pioneers and world leaders in arthroscopic surgery, having practiced for many years in Milwaukee. The support and guidance of his family, his extensive educational background and his active participation and interest in sports and sports medicine played key roles in his chosen profession. He earned his doctorate from the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago in 2000, then dedicated two years of post-graduate training in a podiatric surgical residency program at Winona Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis. In 2002, Dr. Guhl moved back to the Milwaukee area and has been practicing in the Milwaukee/Waukesha area since then. In 2007, he assumed the role of co-director of Waukesha Foot Specialists along with his wife, Dr. Amy Miller-Guhl. Dr. David Guhl has adopted an individualized approach to foot and ankle care, taking into account a patient’s age, occupation, activity level, medical history, foot type and shoes. His knowledge and training allow him to help his patients make informed decisions and choose the best treatment program that fits their specific needs. He has a special interest in sports medicine and the treatment of athletic injuries. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and Wisconsin Society of Podiatric Medicine.
