- UrologyDr. Gary Bellman and the SoCal Urology Institute utilize this clinically-proven technology and software, considered the most advanced in the medical field.
- Kidney StonesPatients in Southern California who have Kidney Stones which are too large to pass through urine, will require expert treatment to dissolve or remove the dangerous and painful kidney stones. Dr. Gary Bellman, Board-Certified Urologist is an expert in the removal of painful kidney stones, using the latest treatments including...
- Urinary Tract InfectionA common cause of blood in the urine in women is a urinary tract infection (UTI). At least 40% of women will develop a UTI at some point in their life, with some women experiencing them multiple times. UTIs generally respond well to simple antibiotic treatment.
- Prostate CancerIf other tests and symptoms indicate there may be a problem with your prostate gland, men may be referred for a prostate biopsy. Prostate biopsies are the best test for diagnosing prostate cancer.

- UltrasoundWith shock wave lithotripsy (SWL), x-ray and/or ultrasound guidance is used to concentrate high-energy pressure waves upon kidney or ureteral stones, reducing them to sand-like particles. The fragments are then passed through the urinary tract.
- MRIThis procedure is customized as Dr. Bellman uses live MRI imaging to pinpoint the exact location of cancerous tissues. He is able to control the direction and strength of the sound waves to efficiently ablate harmful tissues and visually confirm that the cancerous cells are no longer present.

- Wound CarePercutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PNL) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure available in Southern California to treat large kidney stone by creating a small ‘keyhole’ passage directly into the kidney. Traditionally, at the end of a PNL procedure, an external tube is placed into the passage to ensure proper drainage of urine from the kidney. Patients typically stay overnight in the hospital, with removal of the tube the morning after surgery and discharge soon after.Following complete stone clearance, the small “keyhole” incision can be closed and an internal stent used to facilitate urinary drainage. This eliminates the need for an external tube, thus minimizing a patient’s discomfort and any need for post-operative wound care.
- Minimally Invasive SurgeryA clinical instructor at renowned UCLA for years, Dr. Bellman has managed some of Southern California’s most challenging urological conditions through minimally invasive surgery. His surgical specialties include Shock-Wave Lithotripsy, Uteroscopy, and Tubeless Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy for the treatment of kidney stones. Likewise, he is an expert in treating BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia) through minimally invasive laser surgery, or microwave therapy. Dr. Bellman also provides no-needle, no-scalpel vasectomies.
- VasectomyThe no-needle, no-scalpel vasectomy is a quick procedure, typically lasting less than 30 minutes. Topical, spray-on anesthesia (instead of an injected anesthesia) is applied to numb the nerves.
- Robotic SurgeryBoard-certified Urologist, Dr. Gary Bellman, MD has more than two decades of experience and expertise in diagnosing and treating urological conditions ranging from kidney stones, to hormone imbalances, and performing procedures ranging from prostate biopsies to minimally invasive robotic surgery.
