      Burman & Zuckerbrod Ophthalmology Associates, located in Detroit, specializes in Lasik Eye Surgery, Contact Lenses, and Glaucoma and Cataract treatments. We also provide treatment for eye disease, geriatric eye care and Refractive Eye Surgery. Established in 1976, our dedicated and highly trained doctors and staff are here to provide you with the highest quality and most up-to-date eye care available. Whether you need an eye exam, or surgery, you can count on the staff at Burman & Zuckerbrod Ophthalmology Associates, and GNB Optical, to take excellent care of you. We offer the latest in diagnostic services for comprehensive eye care, including special equipment and techniques for cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. We manage and treat most eye diseases including hereditary and congenital eye disorders. Our board certified surgeons utilize a wide variety of procedures tailored to our patients' needs, such as CUSTOM LASIK for the treatment of near sightedness, far sightedness and astigmatism, and CK for people who want to decrease their need for reading glasses. We offer our cataract patients better vision by using better technology such as the Restor and Crystalens lenses. We also perform eyelid surgery, removal of cancerous skin, and the treatment of blocked tear ducts. Matthew L. Burman, M.D. has been certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He completed his residency at Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit. Dr. Burman specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology, glaucoma, strabismus, cataract and implant surgery and occuloplastic surgery. He is one of the first to have performed CK for presbyopia in southeast Michigan. He is a Fellow of the American College of Eye Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons. Daniel S. Zuckerbrod, M.D. is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He completed his residency at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology, glaucoma, cataract and implant surgery, and LASIK refractive surgery. Dr. Zuckerbrod is one of the first ophthalmologists in Southeast Michigan to perform stenting for the treatment of glaucoma. Dr. Zuckerbrod is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. Alan K. Rice, M.D. is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He completed his residency at the University of Illinois. He specializes in general ophthalmology with an emphasis on geriatrics. M. Michael Garin, O.D. is an optometrist certified by the Michigan Board of Optometry. He received his degree in optometry from Indiana University. He specializes in general optometry, contact lens fitting, binocular vision disorders, and low vision. Ayo-Lynn R. Fifield, M.D. is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She is originally from Huntington Woods, Michigan. She attended Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio, where she graduated with High Honors in Neuroscience. She graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School and did her residency at Albany Medical Center. She specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology, and enjoys treating all types of eye diseases, as well as performing cataract surgery.
